Meet Marcy, the inspiration behind Balloon Dog Boutique.

Ballon Dog Boutique started after I started finding that Marcy’s collar and lead were becoming smelly after constantly being wet. Living by the coast and having a dog that adores water, it was important for me to find a material that could handle the salty sea water. Biothane is the perfect material that meets all the needs of any dog but especially sea and river loving pups!

What is Biothane?

BioThane is a brand name for a type of coated webbing, a synthetic material made from a polyester webbing coated with a layer of TPU or PVC. It's known for being durable, waterproof, easy to clean, and resistant to odors and stains, making it a popular alternative to leather and nylon in various applications, particularly in pet products like dog collars and leashes. 

Why Biothane?

• Waterproof: The coating makes it impervious to water, making it ideal for wet conditions and easy cleaning. 
• Easy to clean: Dirt and grime can be easily wiped away, making it low-maintenance. 
• Odor and stain-resistant: Unlike leather, BioThane doesn't absorb odors or stains, keeping it fresh and clean. 
• Durable: It's known for its strength and resistance to wear and tear, outlasting leather in many cases. 
• Hypoallergenic: It's generally considered hypoallergenic, making it suitable for sensitive individuals. 
• Flexible and pliable: Despite its strength, BioThane remains flexible and comfortable to handle
